You can currently bid for two Atlanta based luncheon events where Delta Airlines Business Class (DeltaOne) meals for Spring/Summer 2018 will be presented.
Airlines hold these events regularly and invite focus group customers both during the initial selections and during the final presentation.
It has also become increasingly popular that airlines ‘sell’ the participation at such events against miles or charitable donations to aviation enthusiasts who like to participate at such events.
Current two auctions (access here) are underway for such events, one on October 31st 2017 concerning the 2018 Spring Menu for DeltaOne and the other on February 6th 2018 for the Summer Menu.
This is an exclusive opportunity to be a part of an exceptional culinary experience. The lucky winner and a guest will participate in a Delta One® Menu presentation at Restaurant Eugene (in Atlanta) hosted by award winning Executive Chef Linton Hopkins and attended by Delta’s onboard services leadership team.
This unique event will give you a rare one-of-a-kind opportunity to be a part of the team reviewing, tasting and selecting the upcoming Delta One® spring 2018 or summer 2018 menu that will be served on long-haul International Flights from Delta’s Worldport Hub in Atlanta.
Don’t pass up this remarkable opportunity to witness first-hand how Delta selects the Delta One® chef-curated meals and work side-by-side with the culinary team selecting a key component of one of Delta’s signature products. All proceeds from the Auction support the American Cancer Society 2017 Hope Ball, presented by Delta Air Lines. Happy bidding and best of luck!
LOCATION: Restaurant Eugene, Atlanta, GA
WHO: Auction Winner and Guest, along with Chef Linton Hopkins and the Delta onboard services leadership team.
DATE: Tuesday, October 31, 2017
TIME: Two hours between 11:30 am and 1:30 pm (exact time TBD)
* NOTE: Date and time are subject to change.
The American Cancer Society is a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. Please consult your tax advisor regarding specific questions about your deductions.
This event for two is obviously most suitable for those based in the Atlanta area or in the very least willing to travel there.
According to the description donations to the American Cancer Society are tax-deductible under U.S. law. If purchasing this package through the auction actually qualifies as a donation is probably something you should consult your tax attorney for.
Over the years I have received a couple of invitations to such events from several airlines but never ended up participating in it as I’m not that interested in eating airline food on the ground, let alone use my free time for it.
It could be an interesting event though for those folks who are into it and on top of it all it benefits a good cause so maybe some of our Atlanta/U.S. based readers are interested in placing a bid for the luncheon.
