Club Carlson launched back in June (read more here) “Stay Twice Get A Free Friday” promotion where members could choose between 10,000 bonus points of free Friday night ecert for every two stays between July 1 – September 30, 2017.
The number of ecerts or 10,000 bonus lots that the member can earn from this promotion is limited to three. The ecerts must be redeemed for Friday nights stays between October 6 – January 26, 2018.
You can access Club Carlson’s web page for this offer here.
To make things more complicated, Club Carlson won’t send out the ecerts as the stays post to your account but in three batches (August 15, September 15 and October 15).
I just received one cert (should have received two) for my stays in August and will receive my second certificate in October per the T&Cs.
You will receive an email with a headline “Your Free Friday Night is Here!”.
Here’s the email text:
You can just click the email link to redeem the night. It automatically populates the required field on the website.
You can also find the ecert in your Club Carlson account:
Free night availability for January 19, 2017:
Seems that this Radisson Blu property on Champs Elysees never has any award availability using this promotional award. Not sure what gives?
And here’s how I used my cert:
I’m meeting friends in Helsinki for Finland’s 100th anniversary celebrations on the first weekend of December. Friday night rates in Helsinki are bit crazy due to one event in the city wrapping up.
Haven’t checked out this Radisson Blu option yet in Helsinki so booked it for the Friday night.
Not sure why Club Carlson wanted to limit the redemption of these free night certs purely to Friday nights? If they absolutely wanted to make sure that they weren’t displacing business travel revenue, they could have included Saturday nights too.
I could easily earn the third Friday night cert as well, but would have issue to use it any meaningful way. Club Carlson affiliated properties are not usually my first, second or even third choice.
