Watch Out For Turkish Airlines Flight Delays Due To Ataturk (IST) Airport Runway Closure Due To Accident

Cessna Citation VII jet crash landed on Thursday night at the Istanbul’s Ataturk (IST) airport. Media on the site are reporting that the pilot has deceased but the four passengers are safe.

The runway has been at least temporarily closed that has halted the flight activity. Passengers should monitor their Turkish Airways and other flights to/from the airport.

Really unfortunate incident that will affect the Turkish Airways traffic that heavily relies on connecting passengers.

If the airport is not accepting flights soon, the planes start diverting to alternate airports and crews start timing out. Let’s hope that the issue is resolved in due course.
