Airberlin, an airline that is still barely flying and waiting to be divided by Lufthansa and other airlines, has quite a few anxious Topbonus elite members waiting for a new home.
Finnair started offering status matches last month (read more here) and now apparently Air France – KLM’s Flying Blue has extended an offer for Topbonus members too.
You can access Flying Blue here.
This match was first reported on a German website (access here) and was based on information shared on Facebook. I had a look at the source (FB) and seems that at least someone had his Topbonus status matched based on buying a flight on Air France or KLM, sending his Topbonus account information to Flying Blue in Germany and emailing the purchase flight PNR at the same time.
Here’s what Topbonus members need to do:
1. Purchase Air France or KLM itinerary
2. Take a photo of your Topbonus membership card or account statement
3. Email these with your Flying Blue account number and AF/KL PNR to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Wouldn’t surprise me if more airline would offer formal status matches for Airberlin Topbonus members as the airline has/soon will cease to exist.
Would be interesting to hear from readers if they were able to match their Topbonus and/or Etihad Guest elite status to Flying Blue ones?
