Singapore Airlines Awards Are Back On United’s Website

United Airlines withdraw Singapore Airlines award availability from its website back in 2013 (read more here), but they have been available by calling reservations (don’t we have better things to do with our time?).

Singapore Airlines Award Devaluation

Now, the Singapore Airlines award availability has returned to overnight and is again bookable like nothing would have happened. Keep in mind that soon many awards will require many more miles come November 1 (read more here).

You can access United’s website here.

Here are some award searches I made:

Hong Kong – Sydney:

United Airlines KrisFlyer Awards Are Back HKG-SYD

Copenhagen – Singapore:

United Airlines KrisFlyer Awards Are Back CPH-IST

Premium business classes are still off limits as expected from United frequent fliers but MileagePlus members do have access to A330 and 777-200 ones. There is some regional first class availability to Jakarta and Manila.

This makes MileagePlus miles more useful. Nobody likes calling in award reservations and wasting time with the (not so helpful) agents.

Not sure what was the spat between the United and Singapore Airlines that lead to withdrawal award availability from United’s website alone. It has been available from other Star Alliance carriers’ websites the entire time.
