Hilton Honors has very aggressive policy of expiring points from member accounts if no activity for 12 months. Usually, members have been able to get their points back by calling Honors and having a stay or do if points have expired recently.
Now, Hilton Honors has launched facility where members can restore up to 1,000,000 million points using cash that have expired over the past 18 months.
You can access Hilton’s web page for restoring expired points here.
Hilton Honors also updated the program Terms and Conditions today to reflect this change:
Points Reinstate Hilton Honors members can reinstate up to 1,000,000 expired Hilton Honors Points. Only Points balances that have expired in the previous 18 months are eligible for reinstatement. Only one reinstatement transaction is permitted per Hilton Honors account. Email address is required and will only be used for transaction and marketing communications related to this purchase. Points reinstated do not count towards elite tier qualification. Points.com and Hilton Honors reserve the right to terminate this reinstatement program at any time.
Not sure if the Hilton Honors Customer Service still can restore expired points by having couple of stays within few months like they done for as long as I can recall.
I have not been able to check what is the price to restore expired points because I have none. I have dropped an email to Hilton Honors to find out the price and will update the piece once I hear back from them.
