This week the Fabulous Friday makes a stop at the JW Marriott Beijing where the hotel management has equipped the Executive Club with generous opening hours for the guests to enjoy.
Club Lounges often have rather limited opening hours and even more limited food and beverage options, yet some exceptions clearly apply.
I stayed at the JW Marriott Beijing the first time in April this year, using a free night certificate (Cat 1-5) I received from a previous Marriott promotion. I didn’t expect much given my previous experience with various Marriott properties but was positively surprised there.
Not only do they provide Marriott Rewards Platinum members with proper room upgrades (and the option to enjoy the breakfast at the restaurant) but especially because the Executive Lounge has a very good schedule for various F&B options throughout the day, a 4 hour (!!) Cocktail Reception with a substantial buffet.
The welcome letter which I was given upon request (I wrote about those before) outlines the opening hours and Executive Club benefits clearly:
During the evening the lounge has a four hour long cocktail hour with decent food and desserts until 21:30h and then it continues to be open until midnight.
Even better (leaning on my recent Whine Wednesday about unruly guests at the club) this hotel sets firm rules about the conduct at their executive lounge:
The quality of Executive Club Lounges varies greatly worldwide but even in Asia where they are undoubtedly the best it can sometimes be a hit and miss. This hotel is really a positive surprise and might very well win the title of best lounge in Beijing (not counting the Manor Club at the Rosewood which a class of it’s own).
