The other day one of our readers asked us via Facebook if we knew more about a change in brand of the bathroom amenities for Hilton in the Asia Pacific Region.
I decided to have a look myself this week and booked a stay at the Hilton Beijing. Sure enough the question our reader Ryan had was spot on. All bathroom amenities that were previously Peter Thomas Roth branded had been exchanged for Crabtree & Evelyn – a brand Hilton used previously in their properties worldwide.
Hi. LoyaltyLobby. Do you have any idea whether Hilton still uses Peter Thomas Roth for their bath amenity? In my recent stay in Hilton Kuala Lumpur, they have changed it to Crabtree & Evelyn London. I have contacted their CSO and they claimed that Hilton in APAC will switch to this brand instead.
I then booked my stay in Beijing and immediately after I got to my room checked the bathroom for the shampoo. Yep, Crabtree & Evelyn is back. And it smells absolutely horrible, just like a citrus toilet cleaner.
Thankfully I had a vast supply of L’Occitane bottles left from my stay at Grand Hyatt Shenyang last week (I wrote about those in our Fabulous Friday edition).
I wonder what made Hilton to change the brand again. Peter Thomas Roth was somewhat of a home brand but I never minded to actually use their shampoo and body wash. The new Crabtree & Evelyn ‘Verbena & Lavender’ scented products are so intense that it’s simply awful. Not sure who sanctioned that or if they even used the product even once.
