IHG Rewards Club & Kimpton Karma Integration Update

IHG Rewards Club and Kimpton Karma emailed program members back in October that Kimpton’s program would be folded to IHG’s on early 2018 (read more here).

IHG bought Kimpton back in 2014 (read more here) and run into troubles trying to integrate the hotel group losing most of the San Francisco properties in the process. Now the Karma program is coming to an end this week and all members will become part of IHG Rewards Club effective January 1, 2018.

Here’s email that Kimpton sent out late last week to Karma members:


I am sure that Kimpton properties will see an influx on IHG Rewards Club members trying out this brand in the United States but I see the brand losing big portion of their Karma members in the process as the qualification criteria on their now “invitation” only program has drastically changed and for he worse.
