Back in December, I wrote twice (read more here and here) about a new facility that Hilton Honors had launched that allows members to restore points for cash that have recently expired.
Hilton Honors “Restore Your Points” allows members to reinstate up to 1,000,000 points that have expired over the past 18 months. The T&Cs state that this facility could be used only once.
You can access Hilton’s web page for restoring expired points here.

Price:
The price is quarter of a cent for reinstating up to 100,000 points after which it is flat $250 for up to a million (the max that you can reinstate).
Reinstate:
They use the familiar Points.com interface to process these reinstatements.
Conclusion
The flat price of $250 is quite reasonable for those that need to reinstate large number of points. I just wish that Hilton Honors wouldn’t have so aggressive expiration policy for “dormant” accounts that is just 12 months of inactivity.
Previously, customer service could reinstate your points for free if you were willing to have couple of stays.
