American Airlines Instant Platinum Sign-up & Fast Track Offer To Keep It Through January 2019 (Targeted)

American Airlines has launched new promotion for select AAdvantage program members offering them an instant Platinum status with upgrades through May 25 and fast track offer to keep it until January 2019.

American Airlines AAdvantage Platinum Status January 2018

American has had similar offers throughout the years targeting members that have had less travel than previously or those that AA think can give them greater share of their flying dollars.

You can access this offer on AA’s website here.

Note that the flights to complete the fast track offer don’t need to flown exclusively on American. Flights flown on American Airlines, American Eagle, British Airways, Finnair, Iberia and Japan Airlines as well as American Airlines codeshares qualify.

Here are some Platinum benefits:

  • Complimentary upgrades on flights 500 miles or less within North America (confirmed as early as 48 hours before departure)

  • Priority through the airport at check-in, security and boarding

  • 8 award miles/U.S. dollar (60% bonus)

  • Complimentary access to Main Cabin Extra and Preferred seats

  • 2 free checked bags

  • oneworld® SapphireSM status on partner airlines

Conclusion

American Airlines has been quite aggressive throughout the years sending out offers like this once or twice a year.

It is good way for those that received one to try out American (if they aren’t flying on them already) and getting those 500 mile upgrade certificates might help scoring few upgrades here and there.
