Fairmont President’s Club made an announcement back in December (read more here) about discontinuance of the program on July 1st and folding it to Le Club AccorHotels with reduced benefits on July 2, 2018.
Now, Fairmont’s President’s Club has emailed its members offering another set of free night, upgrade and $$$ vouchers issued on July 2 for merely having two qualified stays between January 1 – July 1.
You can access Fairmont’s website for the changes here.
Here’s the email that Fairmont President’s Club sent out to Platinum members (Premier members also eligible):
Greetings and Happy New Year!
A new year brings the anticipation of fresh starts and exciting changes. At Fairmont President’s Club, we are looking forward to our upcoming integration with Le Club AccorHotels, an award-winning loyalty program with a remarkable collection of luxury brands.
We are pleased to inform you that your 2018 status in Fairmont President’s Club will be Platinum. More details will follow in March when your 2018 e-certificates are posted to your online profile.
Your Fairmont President’s Club membership will continue until July 1, 2018. On July 2, 2018 you will receive a Platinum membership with Le Club AccorHotels, the most elite tier in the program.
As a gesture of our gratitude for your loyalty through this transition, you will be eligible to receive as a bonus another full set of Fairmont President’s Club e-certificates in July. This will be in addition to the e-certificates you receive in March.* All you need to do is have two qualifying stays with Fairmont, Raffles or Swissôtel between January 1 and July 1, 2018.
More information about Le Club AccorHotels and the changes to your membership can be found at our Fairmont President’s Club Members’ Integration Website. As always, you are welcome to email us at email@example.com or call us with your enquiries at 1 877 232 7070 (North America) or +1 506 877 3093 (International).
Thank you for your loyalty as a Platinum member of Fairmont President’s Club. We can’t wait to welcome you back soon.
Remember that Fairmont, Swissotel and Raffles are all having their Private Sales right now (read more here) until 25th and staying twice at any of these three brands would be qualifying under this offer. Just remember to have your Fairmont President’s Club number ready if your stay is at Swissotel or Raffles to get the proper credit.
I just stayed this past week for four nights at the Fairmont Makati and used OTA for three of the nights (had coupons and OTA funny money) and one night using the FPC free night cert. Could have booked directly with Fairmont and applied third night free cert had I known that they were going to introduce this offer.
I will certainly make sure to get the two qualifying stays in, although there are rarely Fairmont hotels in the cities where I travel (until Sofitel Rio de Janeiro to Fairmont conversion is done).
Le Club AccorHotels and Fairmont President’s Club must have heard from the FPC membership loud and clear what they think about the end of the program and Le Club AccorHotels benefits compared to the current ones (free nights and suite upgrades). They must be doing this to stop FPC membership participation bleeding while trying to figure out what to do next.
