We received a Reader Question today asking about the possibility to use the popular Emirates Chauffeur Drive car service for going a longer distance upon arrival.

Emirates famously offers their First & Business Class passengers the Emirates Chauffeur Drive that allows ground transportation by limousine in a designated distance from the airport.

You can access the details about this service on Emirates website here.

The reader asked if it’s possible to use the car service to his resort, the Hyatt Regency Hua Hin, even though the allowed distance for Bangkok Airport is 60km.

Emirates says about the Bangkok Chauffeur Drive:

Within 60km from Suvarnabhumi International Airport.

Itineraries which are exclusively between Bangkok and Hong Kong are not eligible for Chauffeur-drive. Excess mileage charged at THB 35 per km, or at the rates attached for specific destinations outside Bangkok, for First Class and Business Class. Payment can be made in cash only.

The pdf format destination guide provided by Emirates for many destinations specifies that in our readers case the additional charge is 4,500 THB. Other destinations vary by distance and if someone wanted to go to Pattaya it would be 2,500 THB extra.

In the case of Bangkok one has to determine if it’s worth it to pay the extra charge because car services aren’t very expensive. The advantage is that Emirates provides high quality limousines while the basic car options are usually Toyota Camry.

The average price for a car service from Bangkok Airport to Hua Hin is 2500 THB one way in a Toyota (1800 THB to Pattaya), Never use the AOT Limousine Services there are they are way overpriced.
