A LoyaltyLobby reader dropped me an email today about a mailing that he had just received from Topbonus (the former loyalty program of Airberlin).
Here’s the email from the reader:
This is one for the funny page…
Topbonus sent me a letter yesterday, telling that happily they can now hand me my new golden topbonus card.
Explaining that I can collect miles to ensure my status, but unfortunately not use this status with other one-world airline partners.
Great stuff – sending a card that is useless and has an expiration 03/18 on 23rd of February 2018!
Difficult to tell what would have been the reason behind sending this card out with about a month of expiry left? I guess that Topbonus could have saved the money and better spend it elsewhere?
It must be difficult for people running the Topbonus trying to figure out if the program is salvageable or not. But you don’t build trust by sending out cards like this.
