Last week, I wrote (read more here) about Look No Further Best Rate Guarantee program update where Marriott had adopted much liked feature from SPG as members could choose between a discount of 25% of the entire stay or 5,000 bonus points (previously the discount was the only option).
I made a claim at the time for a stay at the Marriott hotel close to the Guarulhos airport in Sao Paulo and promised to do an update once the LNF bonus points had posted.

But seems that there is an issue (not sure if this has been fixed by now):
I filed a claim for a Marriott stay tomorrow and received a reply 33 minutes later that the claim had been approved (they promise to process claims for stays coming up in the nest 24 hours within 4 hours) but couldn’t figure out if I had chose the bonus points or the discount due to system update.
Here’s what now has been posted to my account:
The bonus points didn’t post with the stay (like they usually do with the SPG) but four days later. Not sure if this is automated or someone at the property or Marriott’s LNF team must post them manually.
I really like this change in Marriott’s LNF program, although the bonus points amount could have been higher.
This makes LNF more viable choice for inexpensive stays where 25% discount wouldn’t have made much of a difference compared to 5,000 bonus points.
