Worldhotels Terminates Peakpoints Loyalty Program Effective July 15, 2018

Worldhotels today emailed its Peakpoints loyalty program members program closure notification (didn’t use these words though). Peakpoints program will cease to exist and points not redeemed will become worthless on July 15, 2018.

Worldhotels Peakpoints Termination

Worldhotels launched Peakpoints back in 2014 (read more here) and intends to launch new program called TheList later this year.

You can access Worldhotels website here.

Seems that the new program called TheList is not points based at all but rather guest recognition one like GHA’s Discovery.

At very least, Worldhotels could have offered something for those members that had unredeemed Peakpoints on their accounts rather than just deleting their accounts on July 15.

When I wrote this Peakpoints back in 2014, I noted that you would only get 2.5% of your spend back in Peakpoints and you would need to hit certain thresholds to get the vouchers. Why bother with these programs offering anything less than 10% considering the deals and prices that all the OTAs are offering?
