Fairmont is about to launch their Mother’s Day promotion for buying e-gift cards with 20% bonus. The offer is valid for purchases made on May 9, 2018, between 2PM – 5PM EDT.
The maximum bonus under this offer is $1,000 and it is reached when one buys $5,000 worth of these e-gift cards ($6,000 with the bonus included). You can choose to load them either in USD or CAD.

If you are planning to use the e-gift cards in Canada, you should load them in CAD. Otherwise, I would buy them in USD.
Conclusion
This is essentially 16.67% discount off of Fairmont stays that you pay using these gift cards. If the charge currency is other than USD or CAD, there is likely a small currency conversion fee.
If you have non-prepaid Fairmont stays coming up, this is a great way to save an additional 17% or you can always use these for incidentals.
Fairmont had the discount capped at 15% during the previous two sales of these gift cards. I guess that the take wasn’t great and they decided to run again with 20% bonus.

The Fairmont Hotels & Resorts & Willow Stream Spa electronic gift card promotion will take place on Wednesday May 9, 2018 between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Eastern Daylight Savings Time (“EDT”).
To be eligible to receive a bonus e-gift card purchasers must first purchase one or more Fairmont Hotels & Resorts (“FHR”) or Willow Stream Spa (“WSS”) e-gift cards online. Each brand-specific e-gift card purchase must be completed separately up to a maximum purchase value of $5,000 CAD or USD per credit card, per brand-specific shopping cart. Upon approved purchase the purchaser will receive a bonus e-gift card worth 20% of the value of the brand-specific e-gift card(s) purchased up to the maximum purchase value per credit card, per shopping cart (a “Bonus e-Gift Card”). Examples: 1. Promotion Terms & Conditions:

Bonus e-Gift Cards must be accepted as issued and are not redeemable for cash. Electronic cards are not refundable, nor exchangeable for physical gift cards.
