Hertz Rent A Car Status Match & 1000 Starwood SPG Points Per Rental Promotion Until 31 July, 2018

Platinum members with Starwood Preferred Guest & Marriott Rewards can now obtain their Hertz Gold Plus Elite status (Five Star & Presidents Circle) as we as earn 1000 SPG points per rental through 31 July, 2018.

Marriott Rewards and SPG Platinum members are eligible for Hertz Five Star and Platinum Premier / Platinum Ambassador members for Hertz President’s Circle.

The partnership is live already since January and back then we wrote about it here. The status match worth flawless and depending on the location Hertz offers decent vehicles at times with low prices especially on the weekend.

You can access the landing page to book this promotion here.

I found the rates to be quite competitive and 1000 SPG points bonus on top is nice as well, especially for one day rentals.

Shift to more Starpoints. SPG members can save up to 35% on base rates when you rent with Hertz. Plus, for a limited time, earn 1,000 Starpoints on rentals of three days or more at participating locations through 31 July, 2018.

Be sure to include the SPG discount code 154080, PC 204373 and your SPG number when you book to take advantage of this offer.

The Hertz landing page for the status match can be accessed here and the status will be assigned within a few days.

If you’re not a member of Hertz Gold Plus Rewards yet then it’s required to sign up prior to enrolling for this promotion.

The 1000 Starpoints per rental promo is good until the end of July and a good way to pick up extra points along the way.

I’ve had a few good experiences renting as Presidents Circle over the years but benefits have been scaled back and at the same time Hertz also modified their car categories. Now you often find very mediocre cars in the category of Full Size, pre-assigned to you when arriving at the lot.

I also had a good experience with Hertz at the Los Angeles LAX Airport station (wrote about it here) where I was able to pick a nice Range Rover from the Gold Choice Aisle on a quite cheap reservation for a mid size SUV. Five Star isn’t really a status that’s worth a lot but Presidents Circle also resulted in some premium car upgrades over the years (rather the exception than the rule though).
