Here’s the question from the reader:

My question, is it correct that the private sales prices (for example in the mail on 24th of may) for le club accor are not possible to use when paying with reward points?

When i get to payment page it is not possible to use points. Rather im prompted to insert credit card details…

Here’s the situation that the reader is facing:

Reader Question Accor

Accor is selling many types of rates on its website and seems that the most discounted ones are NEVER eligible for paying using points.

You have to keep in mind that when guest uses points to pay, Le Club AccorHotels doesn’t reimburse the property nowhere near the full amount of the rate (one property did disclose the exact amount to me once and I have posted it somewhere here on LoyaltyLobby as well).

You could argue that Le Club AccorHotels claim that 2,000 points is worth is 40 euros is false when you can only use it towards the most expensive rates that the hotels have.

I have come across the exact situation that the reader was facing here few times in the past. You just cannot use your points when the rates are good. Only for the “Bets Flexible” and less discounted type ones.

Le Club AccorHotels should be clearer on its communication. They imply that points can be used towards all rates available for bookings on their website that is not the case.
