Reader Question: Fairmont Presidents Club Or Swissotel Circle Members With Le Club AccorHotels Integration Issues?

A LoyaltyLobby reader dropped us an email to hear if others have had issued with their status and stays correctly transferring from Fairmont President’s Club or Swissotel Circle to Le Club AccorHotels.

Here’s the email from the reader:

I’m not sure if anyone else has contacted you with issues in regard to the merger of FHRI and Accor.

I’m working on fixing the issues with Accor but I thought I’d let you know:

I was merging Swiss zenit (exp in 2019) with earned Accor platinum (exp 12/18)
Communication prior to the merger was strangely quiet
Accounts merged Friday (5 days late)
So far my Accor account expiry still shows 12/18
One of my available Zenit awards not credited
7 paid nights not showing on balance YTD
Email responses friendly but slow – taking 3 -5 days
I’m not sure if they did an award ‘sweep’ (Swiss Circle seemed to process awards in quarterly batches of 10 and 20 nights) before the conversion, which could have rendered nights since March to have no real value.

I wasn’t expecting this to go smoothly, nothing in hotel loyalty IT ever does. But I have reduced confidence in the merger process and would be interested to know if others are having problems.

Conclusion

Reader is correct that there was very little communication from Le Club AccorHotels, Fairmont or Swissotel when the program merger date came closer.

Le Club AccorHotels sent me my new account number days late and I am still missing batch of certificates from the promotion that they run this year that required two stays.

Seems that the old email addresses for Fairmont and Swissotel communication do still work. I would give up if I would have to communicate with Le Club AccorHotels “customer service”.

  1. Yes it is a disaster. My past stay, my reservation and my unused certificates–none are showing up. I tried to use the contact Accor email, you need to attach something and there is nothing to attach. Accor has started their promotion materials to tell me how much better off I am as an Accor member than a Fairmont member. I now get a free drink every stay instead of a free third night, free room upgrade, free suite upgrade and 2 $25 certificates for food. And Accor wants me to pay for early check in, late check out, and being near the elevator. No thanks, Accor!

  2. There is a prerecorded message on LCA’s c/s number that they are aware Fairmont activity didn’t migrate properly & they are working on it. Not much help, however, if we are needing to book our certs now!

  3. John, on your last story on this you showed a screenshot indicating 1000 Migration Bonus Points on the Accor account. Should all FPC Platinums be expecting that same bonus?

    My account seems to have transitioned properly including all original certificates and the bonus ones for the second stay so that part is all good including the Platinum Status with Accor. Just wondering about these extra thousand points.

  4. Because ALC had been quiet, I contacted them prior to integration what to do to ensure success. They suggested sane name & email in both accounts would be sufficient.
    Sure enough, that didn’t work and neither status nor vouchers made it. I followed up by email three times and got the first response a week later (from fpc, not LeClub). They did fix it and status/vouchers are bow ok!
    If follow up with fpc customer service by email and give them time to address it – seems like they are burried. And fpc service is much better than ALC, not sure how long that will last …
