Here’s the case from the reader:

I’d like to give a shout out to Holiday Inn Express Merrimack, NH. Last night the fire alarm went off and sounded for quite some time. People evacuated into a warm muggy night at about 1230 AM. There was no fire.

This morning upon checking out I asked what caused the alarm? The desk clerk apologized and stated it was due to a water leak. Without me even asking he credited me with 25,000 points for my troubles, outstanding customer service!

Conclusion

Very good customer service indeed. Just had a look and seems that this hotel gets very good reviews from guests so they must be doing things right.

These fire alarms going off in the middle of the night are very unfortunate events. Very difficult for many to get good night sleep after being wakened for an hour or so.
