EVA Air has published a new promotion for members of their frequent flyer program Infinity Mileage Lands where it’s possible to redeem miles for upgrade awards at reduced levels.
The reduced upgrade levels are available for customers with tickets in the high value booking classes Y/B as well as M/H so not everybody will be able to profit from this reduction in mileage requirement.
The promotion was delivered today bu email and as so often with EVA Air the links are all dead, yet it says registration is required. I wasn’t able to find the promotion anywhere on their website.
You can access the EVA Mileage Lands Upgrade section here. For details about this promotion you might want to check your registered email inbox.
Infinity MileageLands welcomes members to enjoy an upgrade award special offer for as little as 6,000 miles. Members travelling on EVA/UNI Air scheduled international flights with eligible ticket classes during the eligibility period can purchase an upgrade award with less mileage. Please note that you must complete registration to enjoy this benefit before making an upgrade award booking.
To make an upgrade award reservation by redeeming air miles, please call your local EVA Air reservation office. For ticketed passengers with confirmed reservations made via the EVA internet booking system, you can also make an award upgrade reservation by logging in to your Infinity MileageLands account online.
To qualify for this offer, you must register for the promotion before booking
Registration period: 2018/08/09~2018/12/15
Eligible routes: EVA/UNI Air scheduled international flights
Eligible ticket classes for upgrades to Premium Economy Class: Y/B/M/H
Effective travel dates:
a. Routes within Asia: 2018/09/01~2018/12/15
b. Routes within Europe/America: 2018/09/01~2018/11/30
Actually it’s rather rare that passengers are traveling under the full fare Economy booking classes Y/B which carry the lowest rates under this promotion. M/H are still quite expensive but probably doable if one is interested in a mileage upgrade and sees sufficient value in the redemption.
EVA Air Business Class on long haul routes is pretty fantastic and I’ve been very satisfied with any of the previous 4 long haul flights I took. They even offered Dom Perignon and Krug Rose Champagne (Krug Rose on the Hello Kitty flight) which is otherwise unheard of in Business Class.
I wish they would get their loyalty program under control as far as the technical aspect is concerned. That they send out emails with dead links is pretty common and the website itself often crashes as well.
