What Does The UPGRADE Button Do On The Hilton Honors App? (Hold On To Your Wallet!)

Not sure if many LoyaltyLobby reader have been pressing the UPGRADE button on the Hilton Honors app only to find paid options behind it?

Well. Hilton and other hotel chains have tried to merchandise upgrades, early check ins and late check outs using system called Nor1 (that is behind that button too).

The options behind the UPGRADE are exactly the same:

Sometimes you can, however, request an upgrade to a “Hilton Honors” room.

I ended up getting an upgrade to Suite with a canal view.

The hotel had upgraded me to a Premium Deluxe but ended up getting a Junior Suite when spoke with the front desk upon arrival.

Conclusion

The UPGRADE option could be worthwhile for non-Diamond and Gold members that are ineligible for complimentary upgrade. The price of a Nor1 upgrade is probably bit lower than the price difference of the room you paid and the room/suite to what you would like to upgrade to.

Elite members really should not pay any attention (hold on to your wallet) and certainly not pay for any of the upgrade options displayed.
