Hilton Honors Changed Some Point Requirements On Friday? (September 14, 2018)

Hilton Honors made a decision in the spring of 2017 to stop publishing award charts and changes to existing properties when they change in number of points required for a free night.

We, however, published a full award chart back in March this year and listed all the changes that had happened over the past 12 months including all the new properties that had been added  (read more here).

A LoyaltyLobby reader sent us a Tweet yesterday that apparently Hilton Honors had changed the point requirements of many cheaper hotels on Friday including most in the UK.

Here are some of the hotels that changed in number of points required for a free night (reader sent us the list):

  • Doubletree Johor 10,000 to 20,000

  • Doubletree Sheffield 10,00 to 20,000

  • Hampton Corby 10,000 to 20,000

  • Doubletree Melaka 10,000 to 18,000

  • Hilton garden inn Krakow Airport 10,000 to 20,00

  • Hampton Warsaw airport 10,0000 to 20,000

  • Hampton Liverpool John Lennon airport 10,000 to 20,000

  • Hampton Newcastle 10,000 to 20,000

  • Hampton Sheffield 10,000 to 20,000

  • Hilton Sibiu 10,000 to 20,000

  • Hilton Salalah 10,000 to 20,000

And this really creates us a problem. We wrote on Friday (access here) that we were on working on a full Hilton Honors award chart (releasing it early this week) and already had the full data on spreadsheet.

The problem is that the data is as of end of August and these latest changes are not Incorporated into it. We probably will release it as it is and just note that the data set is two weeks old. We will do an update when we can.
