Delta Air Lines Increases Checked Bag Fees Effective September 19, 2018

Delta Air Lines today matched the checked bag fee increases that United Airlines and JetBlue introduced back in August.

The first checked bag fee in North & Central America itineraries goes from $25 to $30 and second bag from $35 to $40 for tickets issud on or after 1PM ET on September 19, 2018.

You can access Delta’s current baggage fees page here and the legacy fees here.

Airlines love these ancillary fees that they get to collect from fliers that are not elite members or don’t have one of the affiliated credit cards that waive them.

American Airlines hasn’t yet increased theirs but likely will soon follow United, Delta and JetBlue. Too much easy money to leave on the table.
