The price of a World of Hyatt point purchased under this offer at 40% bonus is 1.71 cents each.

Does it make sense to purchase points?

Only if you use them at very expensive Hyatt properties such as the Park Hyatt Maldives or Paris. This could be, however, a way to acquire them to be used on Cash + Points awards.

Award rooms with Hyatt are available as long as standard rooms are available for sale. This means that points are usually good value if there is something going on in the city that brings the paid rates throughout the roof.

Hyatt sells points several times throughout the year and the bonus usually maxes at 40% bonus. If you have been contemplating buying points, now would  be the right time.
