This week’s Compensation Clinic-case comes from a yours truly recent stay at the ANA InterContinental hotels in Tokyo.
You can access IHG’s page for ANA InterContinental here.
Here’s what happened:
The hotel forgot to move the Ambassador amenity to the club king that I was assigned at the time of checking in from the twin room that they had preassigned for me.
Pointed out at the time of checking out that they had not provided the Ambassador welcome amenity and they offered 5,000 points as a compensation. I said that I would think that 10,000 points would be more appropriate.
This is one of those InterContinental hotels that does the absolute minimum required by the IHG for Royal Ambassadors and thus I did not have any issues getting them to reimburse for the missing Ambassador set up.
