Hilton employees are eligible for great team member rates and there is a separate equally excellent rate plan for Friends & Family.
The best part is that both of these are qualifying for stay/night credits and points. Hotels are required to provide elite benefits on both rates too such as upgrades.
You can access Hilton’s page for this program here.
The change to the Friends & Family program is that the number of eligible nights per employee has gone up from 30 to 75 nights yearly. Hotels can open up extra inventory that doesn’t apply towards this cap.
This rate plan is open as long as the projected occupancy is less than 90%. It is not controlled by the hotel but rather built into the rate and inventory system. Hotels can get into trouble if they try to manipulate this.
The Friends & Family discount is 50% off of the Best Available Rate.
Hilton team member must associate their Hilton Honors account with their Friends & Family one who can then make these bookings by themselves.
The Hilton team member rates are fixed (Friends & Family members are not eligible for them):
- $35 USD for Hampton, Hilton Garden Inn, Homewood Suites, Home2 Suites and Tru by Hilton
- $45 USD for Hilton Hotels & Resorts, DoubleTree, Embassy Suites and Tapestry
- $55 USD for Curio, Canopy and Hilton Grand Vacations
- $75 USD for Waldorf Astoria and Conrad
You should have a look at your extended friends & family network to find someone who works for a Hilton affiliated property. Considering that there are more than 5,000 hotels at the moment, it shouldn’t be too difficult for many readers.
Very few hotel chains provide such an excellent Friends & Family program for their employees like Hilton does. These rates by other chains are rarely eligible for stay/night credits, points or elite benefits.
I think that what Hilton does here is excellent because it familiarises its team members with Hilton Honors program and benefits by utilizing it. What could be better?
