French air traffic controllers are set to strike starting at 8PM on Thursday December 13 and ending at 7AM on Saturday December 15, 2018.
There will be widespread disruptions on flights to/from France and those using the French air space. Airlines will likely upgauge and consolidate flights that will operate and there will be last minute delays and cancellations.
You should check the status of your flights if you are going to or around France in the next 48 hours.
Here’s the text that EasyJet has sent out to their travelers:
Air traffic controllers are striking as part of the public servants against the French government. Tensions are high in France at the moment based on the news coverage I have seen. Let’s hope that there are minimal disruptions to air traffic but you should be prepared.
Airlines are required to provide duty to care per EC 261/2004 even in case of strikes and reroute affected passengers to their final destination at the earliest opportunity even on other airlines.
I am arriving to Europe on Thursday on BA and will continue to north on Friday avoiding the madness in France altogether.
