Building in New York’s Times Square that houses very popular Hilton affiliated hotel is about to go through redevelopment and there has been lot of confusion when this DoubleTree Guest Suites is closing.
The hotel employees were first informing guests that the hotel was closing its doors at the end of November (read more here). Now, Hilton has been contacting guests that the hotel is closing on December 22, although you can still make booking until mid-January.

Note that there is no minimum stay requirement for Diamond members who book using points unlike there is for December 31 if you pay.
If they are closing on December 22, they certainly should stop selling rooms on their own website! The situation surrounding this property is very confusing. It is about to close but seems to be unclear when.
I would not book this property for any stay beyond December 22 because it may or may not be open.
