A LoyaltyLobby reader forwarded us screenshots of a survey that National Car Rental had sent to him about possible changes to the program
You have to remember that National, Alamo and Enterprise are all part of the same group Enterprise holdings. Both National and Enterprise have separate loyalty programs while Alamo doesn’t have one.
“Enhanced” loyalty program:
It seems as there will be one unified program for all brands where you earn points based on spending. Now you earn free rental days with National based on the number of rentals and their length.
It is quite clear that National here is trying to better link the price of the rental to free rentals earned by awarding points or perhaps Enterprise Holdings will introduce a combined one for its three separate brands?
Whenever a company uses a word “enhanced” you should hold onto your wallet and expect benefits to be watered down, which here basically means higher spending to earn free rental days.
National has run, as far back as I can recall, a yearly promotion One-Two-Free that has allowed members to earn a free rental day for every two rentals.
