Marriott inherited Design Hotels brand when it acquired Starwood. These hotels are more loosely affiliated with the loyalty program if at all (not all of them are).
It seem that there is something going on in Portugal as eight of the nine Design Hotels appear to be out of loyalty program participation. It is unclear whether these will exit the Design Hotels brand as well.
You can access Marriott’s page for Design Hotels here.

Conclusion
It could be that the operator of these eight hotels felt that the combined loyalty program doesn’t benefit them the same way as the SPG did. Some of the these hotels have already emailed Marriott Bonvoy members letting them know about the exit.
I have stayed at one of the above mentioned hotels in Furnas where I received the above amenity. Sad to see these hotels leaving the Marriott Bonvoy.
