World of Hyatt and American Airlines yesterday launched partnership and reciprocal elite benefits that will take effect immediately (read more here).
You need to have elite status with either American Airlines or World of Hyatt to benefit from this program. Hyatt Globalist members are eligible for AA elite status fast track.
You can access this partnership here.
You need to first link your World of Hyatt and American Airlines accounts in order to see the fast track offer. It will take few hours to show up on your American Airlines AAdvantage promotions.
Here’s what Hyatt sent to Globalists:
Here’s information that Hyatt has up on its website:
Here’s the offer that showed up in my account AA account after linking:
Take your World of Hyatt Globalist status to the next level and earn up to AAdvantage® Executive Platinum status at a faster rate after you register.
Elevate your AAdvantage® status through January 31, 2021, by earning the required Elite Qualifying Dollars (EQDs) and either the required Elite Qualifying Miles (EQMs) or Elite Qualifying Segments (EQSs) between the date you register and the date 3 months after you register:
- $3,000 EQDs and either 20,000 EQMs or 24 EQSs for Platinum Pro
- $5,000 EQDs and either 35,000 EQMs or 40 EQSs for Executive Platinum
Qualifying EQDs, EQMs and EQSs are earned when you fly on eligible tickets for flights operated by American Airlines or marketed by American, American Eagle®, British Airways, Finnair, Iberia and Japan Airlines.
Globalist members that don’t have any status with AA have received the following offer:
$1,000 EQDs and either 7,000 EQMs or 8 EQSs for Gold
$2,000 EQDs and either 12,500 EQMs or 16 EQSs for Platinum
$3,000 EQDs and either 20,000 EQMs or 24 EQSs for Platinum Pro
$5,000 EQDs and either 35,000 EQMs or 40 EQSs for Executive Platinum
You need to sign up for this offer by September 30, 2019. You then have three months to fulfill the Gold, Platinum, Platinum Pro or Executive Platinum fast track requirements. The offer itself comes with Platinum (Oneworld Sapphire).
The flights eligible for the fast track must be operated by American Airlines or marketed by AA and the following JV partners: British Airways, Finnair, Iberia or Japan Airlines.
The status from this offer is valid through January 31, 2021.
This is good offer for those Globalist that don’t have status with an American Airlines and wouldn’t mind flying on them or the select partners listed. I like the fact that the status is valid through January 31, 2021.
There is different fast track offer for World of Hyatt Discoverist members to get status with American.
I don’t think that it is worthwhile for me going for the Executive Platinum because I already have lifetime Platinum status with AA and the most valuable EXP benefit, the systemwide upgrades, would be useless for me.
Here are the terms and conditions of the Platinum Pro & Executive Platinum fast track offer:
This is an exclusive offer only for World of Hyatt Globalist members who successfully linked their AAdvantage® and World of Hyatt accounts
