This week the Compensation Clinic-case comes from a reader’s Los Angeles-Hong Kong American Airlines flight that had an entirely inoperable inflight entertainment system.
Here’s the message from the reader:
Had a decent case of compensation, recently flew on American from LAX to HKG, 15 1/2 hour flight and the IFE was broken. It was down before we left but we left without it working. Made for a very long flight! When I got back I wrote to American and they posted 10,000 miles to my account. I’m satisfied with that, I’ll use it on my next domestic flight.
That was a long flight especially without any kind of inflight entertainment provided by American Airlines. Not sure if AA can fix something like this at an outstation and thus the return flight might have been equally painful.
I try to have some entertainment downloaded on my devices but always have a look at what the airline has available too. There are often surprises and good picks that I have not been aware of.
