Back in March 2018 Boeing and Turkish Airlines announced they had finalized a firm order for 25 787-9 Dreamliners with options for five more airplanes., as part of the airline’s push for modernizing their
aging fleet (they also expressed interest for up to 25 Airbus A350-900) and also their expectations for growth at their brand new Istanbul International Airport (ICYMI: check my report!)
The delivery of the first of these aircrafts seems imminent, as the airline took it to Twitter this week to give us a sneak peek into their new business and economy class cabins!
Earlier this year it was confirmed that Turkish’s choice for their new business class seat was the Aurora seat from Stelia Aerospace, to be installed both on their B787-9s and the A350-900. The new seat is an undisputable upgrade on their current business class product (which I reviewed a couple years ago). The new business class cabin will feature an all-aisle access 1-2-1 configuration and stunning interiors.
Are you ready for a flight experience #LikeaDream?
The wide-body aircraft with twin engines and great range flexibility; @Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, will be at our new home; Istanbul Airport very soon.#TurkishAirlines #Dreamliner pic.twitter.com/4gt1pBvABB

The airline also tweeted a video of both their new business and economy class cabins. Economy will feature a 3-3-3 configuration with 44 cm width, 78 cm pitch seats.

Both cabins look stunning, and I can’t wait to try one of my favorite business class soft products in the market on the new upgraded seats!
Turkish Airlines will be flying their first Dreamliner twice a day between Istanbul and Antalya during the summer, as it is easier for crew to get familiarized with the new aircraft, so it will probably be a while before we see it full swing on long-haul routes.
