Lufthansa Catering Strike/Work Slowdown Frankfurt Through July 1, 2019

Lufthansa is facing issues on its flights ex-Frankfurt through July 1, 2019 as catering employees are on unannounced strike/work slowdown.

Lufthansa Catering

The airline is in the process of spinning off its LSG Sky Chefs catering unit that supplies its other flights around the globe

Apparently the catering on some flights is minimal even in business class. Passengers flying Lufthansa on flights catered ex-Frankfurt should prepare and eat in advance if they have planned to get some food during the flight.

You have to keep in mind that some flights within Europe are catered from the base both ways.

Conclusion

Lufthansa hasn’t made any announcements about this employee action leaving passengers in the blind. The strike is likely due to airline announcing that it would offload the catering unit that may affect employee benefits, wages and job security.
