Lufthansa Catering Strike Continues (Bring Your Own Food)

Lufthansa has had troubles getting its planes catered starting late last week on flights ex-Germany (first Frankfurt only) that also affects many flights within Europe that are provisioned from the base both ways.

Lufthansa is exploring options selling its LSG Sky Chefs unit that caters flights at more than 200 airports around the world. Employees are not fan of the idea that would likely lead to reduced pay and travel benefits if not part of an airline.

Here are couple of photos of recent in-flight meals in business by FlyertTalk members (access here and here):

Frankfurt – Manchester

Not sure why Lufthansa has not released any information about this strike to its passengers so that they could better prepare for the (close to) foodless and drinkless flights, even in business class?

Being open about operations challenges would be the way to go but here Lufthansa tries to pretend that everything is running fine when it is more than obvious that this is not the case.

Passengers that are effected by this should file complaints and request compensation from the airline (at least those in business).
