A LoyaltyLobby reader sent us a tweet about two new airline partners that GOL’s Smiles loyalty program has quietly introduced.
GOL is now one of just three major Brazilian airlines (Avianca Brasil just collapsed). The other two are LATAM (part of Oneworld) and Azul (non-aligned with some Star Alliance partners).
You can access GOL Smiles here.
The two new partners are Luanda base TAAG (not part of any alliance) and Madrid based Air Europa (SkyTeam partner). The reader said that awards on these two airlines should be already bookable using Smiles. I couldn’t find any on TAAG.
GOL has very interesting mix of partner airlines who have partnered with this Brazilian airline, mainly to get feed for their flights into the country. There are partners from all the three alliances and non-aligned airlines too including Emirates and Etihad from the UAE.
We have covered Smiles few times in the past. Some of the awards have been very reasonably priced using Smiles and they are on sale frequently too. Many members have, however, had their accounts frozen (those without the required CPF and with a foreign address).
