Le Club AccorHotels launched a partnership with Japan Airlines (JAL) late last year (read more here) and has now added another airline to its ever expanding list of airlines.
Oman Air’s Sinbad frequent flier program has become a partner but unfortunately with a points to miles conversion exception.
You can access Accor’s page for airline partners here.
Member that wish to earn Oman Air Sinbad miles instead of Le Club AccorHotels points need to have their earning preference set to partner miles/points instead of Accor ones. You then need to have Oman Air Sinbad as the preferred partner.
You can also activate automatic conversion of points to miles after each of your stay.
The conversion rate:
You earn 1 airline mile per every 2 Le Club AccorHotels points earned with most partners. The situation with Oman Air is unfortunately less generous. You can convert 4,000 Le Club AccorHotels points to 1,500 Oman Air Sinbad miles (essentially 25% less).
Good that Le Club AccorHotels has added another airline to its partner portfolio however useful or not this one might be. It is unfortunate that the points to miles conversion ratio with Oman Air Sinbad is 25% worse than with most other partners.
Oman Air is based in Muscat (Oman) and is not aligned with any alliance. Their business class product is supposedly good (have only flew them once in economy).
