There are often welcome letters for loyalty program elite members at full service hotels. I like these, as they often clarify the benefits at a specific property.
Sometimes they are flat out wrong or include unintended mistakes however. I am often rolling my eyes reading them, like this one that I got at the Hilton’s only property in Auckland, New Zealand.

I always look forward to these Welcome Letters at properties where I have not been previously stayed or haven’t visited for a while. Many hotels go above and beyond what is required by the loyalty program/chain when it comes to benefits.
It is just unfortunate when there are mistakes, whether intended or unintentional. They are often detrimental for the loyalty program elite guests.
Hilton Auckland has basically been minting money due to limited competition in the city. Four Points opened up, SO/ Auckland as well late last year, and Park Hyatt will soon be ready for guests (more on this property this coming week).
