Malaysia Airlines Enrich Fast Track To Gold With One Ticket In Business Class For Flights Ex London

Malaysia Airlines Enrich has launched a new campaign offering passengers ex London flying in Business Class & Business Suite automatic Gold tier status (oneWorld Saphhire) after one flight.

Blue and Silver Enrich members fulfilling the promotional requirements will receive Enrich Gold (Oneworld’s Sapphire) and existing Gold and Platinum members will receive 50,000 elite miles as a one time status credit.

This 50k status tier credit could make it very easy for members to obtain Enrich Platinum which is equivalent to the oneWorld Emerald tier.

Requirement for this promotion (access here) is that all tickets must be booked by September 16th 2019 in order to qualify and then travel before July 30, 2020.

The promotion targets those Enrich customer who book a ticket from London to select destinations in South East Asia and Australia/New Zealand:

Note that a direct flight between London and Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur or domestic destination) does not qualify!

The status upgrades will be processed as follows depending on the date the flight takes place:

Enrich status will be valid until 31 March 2021 so if you make use of this promotion late it might not be worth that much except in the case of the 50,000 tier points credit which would count towards that current years qualification.

Looking through the T&C of the promotion there doesn’t seem to be a residence requirement. It does however say that the member must book and fly a return journey in order to qualify for this campaign.

Enrich member must book and purchase a return qualifying fare ticket originating from London to the selected destinations specified in the table below and, successfully complete the return journey(s) on flight (s) operated solely by Malaysia Airlines on Business Class or Business Suite during the period stated below (“Flight Requirements”) to be eligible for the incentive.

Passengers flying to Australia/NZ can book the lowest promotional fares in booking class “Z” while for South East Asia the campaign requires at least booking class “D” which is the second lowest one.

Conclusion

Malaysia Airlines Enrich has run such accelerated status promotions before and their T&C have always been quite long and confusing. It’s important to familiarize yourself with the details of this promotion before considering it. Keep in mind that Enrich isn’t the most useful program out there.

Considering this is for originating tickets from the UK one might consider that members of British Airways Executive Club can earn Silver (sapphire) with 600 tier points and 4 flight segments on BA/Iberia. With a good offer from lets say Qatar Airways via Doha it’s very easy to accomplish that quickly as an alternative.
