A LoyaltyLobby reader sent us a question regarding one of the Hilton Honors Gold fast track offers that are available.
You can access our piece for the popular MVP Fast Track here.
Here’s the email from the reader:
I’m having great difficulties with Hilton Honors and the Fast Track MVP GOLD offer (four stays in 90 days). I qualified for gold in 2018 based on this offer but Hilton wouldn’t let me sign up for this offer in 2019 both in April and a few days ago.
Are there any restriction on this offer that I might have missed? The only restrictions I see is “redeemable once for the lifetime of the promotion” but it seems to me that each time Hilton rolls out this offer its a different promotion and I should be eligible.
Any help or insight you might be able to provide would be greatly appreciated.
Reader had been offered a Diamond fast track by customer service:
We’re thrilled you’re interested in becoming an elite Diamond Member!
We’d like to offer you a special fast-track offer. If you record 10 eligible stays or 18 eligible night at any participating Hilton Honors hotel within the next 90 days, your account will be automatically upgraded through March 31, 2021. We hope to see you soon!
Reader Gold status won’t expire before 2020:
I am aware that my Gold status expire in 2020. I was trying to sign up for the MVP fast track offer so I could extend my status for another year. Don’t understand why a 2018 sign up should have any impact on 2019 qualification.
The reader forwarded us the message chain that he had had with Hilton Honors Customer Service (select ones above).
We receive similar questions quite often from our readers who still have Gold-status with Hilton but who would like to do the fast track before the status expires.
This is not possible, however. The reader can sign up for a separate Fast Track offer once his Gold has expired, not before.
Hilton Honors has been very generous with their Diamond and Gold status matches and fast track offers. They have already tightened the Diamond one from straight match to a fast track. It wouldn’t come as a surprise to me if they decide to do something with these Gold as too at some point in time.
You have to keep in mind that Hilton affiliated credit cards that come with Gold or Diamond status are only available in limited markets. This is not an option for those living in a country where one of these products are not available.
