Air France – KLM Flying Blue Petroleum Closes On March 31, 2021

Air France – KLM has separate Flying Blue Petroleum-program for members working in the energy industry.

The program is now closed for new enrollments, and it will end on March 31, 2021. Flying Blue Petroleum members can enjoy their benefits until that date.

You can access Flying Blue Petroleum here.

Here’s the announcement that Flying Blue has up:

Starting on 1 October 2019 the Flying Blue Petroleum programme will not enrol new members. This change does not affect current Petroleum members and their benefits. Current members will have access to their Petroleum advantages until the end of their card validity.

Your Flying Blue tier level and Flying Blue Petroleum membership are separate, so your Flying Blue level will not be affected.

If you are an eligible Flying Blue Petroleum member, your membership will automatically be renewed (see conditions below). You will get a new card and continue to access programme privileges until March 31 2021, when the programme will end.

Here are the Flying Blue Petroleum benefits:

  • Save time with dedicated SkyPriority check-in desks

  • Skip the queue and drop your bags off at special drop-off locations

  • Board in a flash via the SkyPriority lanes

  • Fast-track your trip at dedicated ticket offices and transfer desks

  • Enjoy seamless transfers between airports thanks to dedicated Petroleum transfer desks at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam-Schiphol

  • Get priority access to Business check-in counters at airports worldwide when Flying Blue Petroleum counters are not available

AIRPORT LOUNGE ACCESS

At Paris-Charles de Gaulle or Amsterdam-Schiphol airport, get lounge access during your connection between 2 flights marketed as and operated by Air France or KLM on the same day as travel, or the day of departure of your second flight for overnight connections. Present your Flying Blue Petroleum card for free access to:

  • The Air France Lounge at Paris-Charles de Gaulle

  • The KLM Crown Lounge at Amsterdam-Schiphol

  • The Spa & Fitness centre and the Connectivity & Wifi lounge at the Pullman hotel at Paris-Roissy CDG, just 3 minutes from Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle airport

Conclusion

Program like this must have been useful for energy sector workers that don’t often travel as they have received Flying Blue Gold benefits when flying on Air France or KLM, including lounge access.

Members that fly on long-haul and especially in business earn Flying Blue Gold status quite fast.
