Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan Double Miles Promotion For El Al Flights (SFO-TLV Route) Through June 30, 2020

Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan and EL AL Israel Airlines have just expanded their partnership in July and now offer a Double Miles promotion for flights from San Francisco to Tel Aviv all the way into Summer 2020.

Mileage Plan members who travel on qualifying EL AL Israel Airlines nonstop flights from October 15, 2019 through June 30, 2020 will earn double Mileage Plan miles for their flight activity.

Based on what a few friends told me who fly to TLV quite often this new partnership is a game changer on the route for those flying El Al so I tend to believe them. This promotion adds even more sweetness to the situation.

You can access the promotional landing page here and register the account.

In May, our Global Partner EL AL Israel Airlines launched new daily nonstop service between San Francisco and Tel Aviv.

To celebrate this new connection between these vibrant cities, we’re launching an offer designed to make getting away even sweeter.

Starting October 15, fly EL AL Israel Airlines nonstop between San Francisco and Tel Aviv and earn double base miles along the way.

Here’s how it works:

  • Register your Mileage Plan™ number below before your first trip no later than December 15, 2019.
  • Travel on qualifying EL AL Israel Airlines nonstop flights October 15, 2019 through June 30, 2020, and you’ll earn double Mileage Plan miles.

Keep in mind that as per the T&C registration and booking of the flights is required prior to December 15th in order to take advantage of this promotion (though I’m really not sure how Mileage Plan is supposed to track the ticketing date of partner flights. That’s usually not part of the data submitted to them.

Here is the El Al Earning Chart for Mileage Plan:

Flying in one of the premium classes, having elite status and taking advantage of the promotion could result in a substantial amount of miles given the distance of SFO-TLV vv.

As I mentioned a couple days ago when I wrote about the new options to redeem Alaska Mileage for Singapore Airlines flights, the program is morphing into an excellent niche option that allows travelers who aren’t (or don’t want to be) loyal to one particular alliance to pool their miles from a variety of flights.

Furthermore Mileage Plan is extremely generous with their charts both for earning and redeeming. I would urge caution though as I can see the gravy train end at some point.
