IHG Rewards Club launched an exciting offer to drive Ambassador-sign ups and stays at InterContinental hotels last month (read more here).
Now, they have launched an additional Royal Ambassador fast track offer for stays consumed between September 26 – December 31, 2019. You must register by November 30.
Note that this fast track offer is open for members whose membership address is in Greater China (China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan).
There is a $5,000 spend requirement between the eligible dates at InterContinental, Kimpton, and Regent-brands to qualify for Royal Ambassador successfully.

The sign-up was successful, and the promo tracks on My Offers.
My InterContinental stays after January 31 this year are down by 90% due to the status downgrade from Royal Ambassador to Ambassador. Very few reasons to stay at InterContinentals if you have top tier with Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, or Accor that all grants elite benefits such as upgrades, late check-outs, and lounge access.
Had I known at the end of September that this offer is out, I could have rather easily moved $5K of my hotel spend to these three brands. Not sure how feasible this is within virtually 60 days.
Perhaps the number of Royal Ambassador members is down due to the higher spend requirement that was instituted this year and reduced benefits (minibar, upgrades, and early check-in).

The offer is available to InterContinental® Ambassador members resident in Greater China (includes Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan) whose registered domicile is in Greater China.
• Offer period
Registration period: From September 26, 2019 to November 30, 2019, both dates inclusive (Beijing Time)
Stay period: From September 26, 2019 to December 31, 2019, both dates inclusive (Beijing Time)
• Participating hotels
Worldwide InterContinental® Hotels & Resorts, Kimpton® Hotels & Restaurants, Regent® Hotels & Resorts.
• How to access the offer
a) Eligible members must register for the “InterContinental Ambassador Fast Track” offer no later than November 30, 2019.
b) Eligible members must complete Qualifying Nights or Room Revenue between September 26 to December 31, 2019, both dates inclusive (Beijing Time). Both the check-in and check-out dates must be within this period to qualify.
c) “InterContinental Ambassador Fast Track” for IHG® Rewards Club Spire Elite: within campaign stay period, eligible Ambassador members get IHG® Rewards Club Spire Elite status, after staying 15 Qualifying Nights at participating hotels.
d) “InterContinental Ambassador Fast Track” for InterContinental Royal Ambassador: within campaign stay period, eligible Ambassador members get InterContinental Royal Ambassador status, after $5,000 Qualifying Room Revenue at participating hotels.
• Qualifying Nights and Room Revenue
a) According to the IHG® Rewards Club Membership Terms and Conditions, a “Stay” is defined as one night or consecutive nights at the same hotel, regardless of the check-in or check-out frequency.
b) A “Qualifying Night” means one paid night booked at a Qualifying Rate (including most business and leisure rates) at InterContinental® Hotels & Resorts, Kimpton® Hotels & Restaurants, Regent® Hotels & Resorts during campaign stay period. “Non-Qualifying Rates” or “Non-Qualifying Nights” are defined as net wholesale individual and group rates, some package rates, employee discount rates, friends and family rates, crew rates, special discounted contract rates, seasonal worker or crew rates, 50% travel club discount rates, travel industry discount rates, distressed passenger rates, IHG® Rewards Club Reward Night rates, Free Night rates, or Airline Hotel Reward rates, rates offered through most third-party websites, the second night of Ambassador Complimentary Weekend rates, and any other rates not deemed eligible by IHG®.
c) “Non-Qualifying Room Revenue” are defined as room revenue in room folio except room rates, Room revenue not in room folio, Multiple Rooms Stay except members personal room rates, tax and service fees.
• Status upgrades
a) Offer status upgrade will be awarded into each member’s IHG® Rewards Club account before 15 February 2020. Status upgrades are awarded pursuant to the terms and conditions of IHG® Rewards Club and InterContinental® Ambassador.
b) Member shall possess or maintain InterContinental® Ambassador membership during the campaign stay period to receive status upgrades. Once a Member receives status upgrade during this offer, the Member may keep IHG® Rewards Club status for the next 12 months or before December 31, 2020 (The earlier date shall prevail).
c) InterContinental® Ambassador membership is not extended accordingly for members who receive IHG® Rewards Club Spire Elite Status, and renewal is required for Ambassador membership in the 2020 calendar years. The IHG® Rewards Club status must be earned for the 2021 calendar years, and beyond in accordance with the IHG® Rewards Club Membership Terms and Conditions. Members who receive IHG® Rewards Club Spire Elite Status or Royal Ambassador status as part of this offer, will not be entitled to the Spire Elite choice benefit (upon qualification for IHG® Rewards Club Spire Elite, Members may choose to either receive a 25,000 annual point bonus or to gift Platinum Elite to a family member or friend). Members who qualify for Royal Ambassador status as part of this offer will receive the Royal Ambassador Free Night benefit valid for 2020 only and status shall be granted until 31 December 2020. The Free Night will be deposited into member accounts before 15 February 2020.
• Other terms and conditions
a) Members must check in to hotels in person, be a registered guest and occupy the room for the duration of their stay; Other members or third parties may not check in on their behalf.
b) To the fullest extent permissible pursuant to applicable law, if for any reason (including but not limited to force majeure) this offer cannot proceed as planned, the organizer reserves the right to unilaterally change, cancel, temporarily suspend, or terminate the offer, to the extent permitted by national laws or regulations.
c) The organizer reserves the right of final interpretation of the offer and may amend the terms and conditions from time to time, to the extent permitted by applicable laws.
d) Members should raise objections about their eligibility to participate, the eligibility of stays they have completed, and the sum of bonus points or rewards credited to their account within 60 days of the end of the offer (the “Objection Period”). IHG® will only keep a record of a member’s eligibility, bonus points, and other relevant information during the Objection Period. Due to system restrictions, this information cannot be accessed after the Objection Period elapses. Members are liable for all losses incurred as a result of their failure to raise an objection during the Objection Period.
e) The organizer shall not be held liable for failures or delays in transferring member data due to computer viruses, network failures, hacker attacks, telecommunications restrictions, or network latency.
• In addition to these terms and conditions, the offer is subject to standard IHG® Rewards Club and InterContinental® Ambassador Membership Terms and Conditions and earning structure, which can be obtained by visiting www.ihgrewardsclub.com. The sponsor reserves the right to remove a member’s Bonus Points, membership status and/or account according to the terms and conditions specified here, the IHG® Rewards Club Membership Terms and Conditions or other measure, if fraudulent use of the promotion is detected.
