Lufthansa Cabin Crew Strike November 7 – 8, 2019

Lufthansa cabin crew member union UFO has authorized a strike that will last for 48- hours this week starting at midnight on November 7 and ending at midnight November 9, 2019.

The strike will ground most Lufthansa flights for two days. The airline has issued rebooking guidelines for passengers affected by this action.

UFO has called on its cabin crew members for a two-day strike on 7 and 8 November. Lufthansa condemns the UFO’s call for a strike in the strongest possible terms and is considering legal steps to prevent the strike. We are currently working at full speed on a special flight plan for Thursday and Friday which will be published on Wednesday. We apologize for any inconvenience that may arise.

Conclusion

Lufthansa is required to rebook affected passengers to their final destinations at the earliest opportunity, including moving them to other airlines such as British Airways, Air France, and Emirates. They will likely not offer this automatically without a request/push from the passenger.

The airline is also required to provide Duty to Care that includes accommodation, meals, and phone cards in case of long delays.
