Kimpton Hotels have had a secret password, now called “social password,” for years, and this tradition has continued under IHG.
The new social password for stays through February 16, 2020, is out. You must say “Stay Human” at the time of checking in to get a special treat that can be complimentary breakfast, parking, complimentary drinks, or a gift (report yours in the comments section).

Conclusion
This is a lovely gift from the hotels and Kimpton, and I am somewhat surprised that this not so “secret” tradition has continued for quite some time.
