New Choice Privileges Properties In Helsinki (Finland)

Choice Privileges members can soon redeem, not earn, at eight more hotels in Helsinki while Nordic Choice, separate program, allows members to both earn and redeem at ten.

These changes are due to recent purchase of Kämp Collection Hotels in Finland by Nordic Choice based in Norway (read more here). The partnership between Choice Hotels and Nordic Choice is somewhat convoluted.

You can access Choice Hotels here.

HOTEL BENEFITS

Benefits available in the U.S., Canada, Europe (excluding Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden), the Middle East, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and Asia-Pac (including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Papua New Guinea and Fiji).

No possible elite benefits either.

Conclusion

Nordic Choice is a reasonable program IF you only earn and redeem in the Nordics and few other countries. They have offered status matches from competing programs frequently. Unfortunately, Choice Privileges members cannot earn points or enjoy elite member benefits at Nordic Choice properties. You can, however, use your points.

It is interesting that these hotels will be part of Choice Privileges (with limitations), Nordic Choice (all earn and redeem), while many will have affiliation with other programs, too, such as Global Hotels Alliance, Small Luxury Hotels and Hyatt, and Preferred Hotels.

Choice Privileges members cannot redeem only at Kämp (Leading Hotels of the World) and St. George (Design Hotels/Marriott Bonvoy).
