Thai Airways Canceling Bangkok – Stockholm Business Class Tickets

Thai Airways had a business class fare sale the other week, offering low priced tickets between Bangkok and Stockholm that Freddo covered on a piece (access here).

Now, Thai Airways has been busy emailing passengers, telling that the thousand bucks ticket is a result of “erroneous distribution of Business class fare” that is utter nonsense and calls this an “incident.”

Here’s a copy of the email:

In a text format:

Dear THAI Airways Value Passenger
Reference is made to your issued Bangkok - Stockholm v.v.ticket

Thai Airways could perhaps use this argument if the fare had been lower. You can fly between Europe and Asia often for $300 to $400 in economy, and there are Qatar Airways business class fare sales starting at 1K euros between these two markets. The price that Thai Airways offered was very good but not something I would call an error.

Unfortunately, I don’t believe that there is much what consumers can do considering the state of consumer protection in Thailand and the fact that the government owns the airline.
