Fabulous Fridays: Hilton Rome Airport (FCO) Free Shuttle City Center Shuttle

This week in our Fabulous Fridays series, we feature a valuable service provided by an airport hotel.

A LoyaltyLobby reader was surprised to find out that the Hilton Rome Airport (FCO) provides a frequent complimentary shuttle to the city center and back throughout the day.

You can access Hilton Rome Airport’s website here.

Here’s the report and photos that the reader filed:

Hilton Rome Airport offers a free shuttle from the hotel to Rome’s city center 8 times per day in each direction.

Rides are subject to availability. You cannot reserve seats but the coach has 52 seats and lots of room for luggage underneath. The hotel signage and schedule sheet indicates that the schedule is subject to change and cancellation without notice.

The trip takes approximately 45 mins and is via a new, comfortable motor coach. It departs the hotel’s front door at a designated sign and arrives at approximately Via Luigi Petroselli 54; street the street from Campitelli and short walk to many of the famous sights of Rome.

The Rome city center location has no signs, so we advise taking a photo or dropping a pin on your gps-based app so you remember the pick-up spot.

For those wishing to stay at the (terminal connected) Hilton Rome Airport this service offers a great way to visit the city if on a long layover, overnight stay, etc. We suspect many flight crews use the service too.

Conclusion

This is an excellent service for someone with a forced layover (this hotel is often used for irregular operations accommodations) and airline crews. Easy to get to the center without a fee and take a stroll in the city for a few hours.

If you are planning to stay in Rome for several days to explore the city, you should stay in the city center.
